The Delray Beach Chorale is
a non-denominational singing group based in Delray Beach. The chorus is
comprised of approximately 65 singers, men and women of all ages with
a love for singing and a basic mastery of reading printed music. The chorus
performs two major concerts per year with occasional charitable performances
and fundraising events. The content of the music is generally the music
of the great composers which presents a challenge to the choral members.
The Chorale is accompanied by members of a professional orchestra at each
major performance as well as soloists who are either professional singers
or members of the chorus. The Delray Beach Chorale has the distinction
of having been invited three seasons ago to perform as artists-in-residence
at the Esterhazy Palace in Eisenstadt, Austria where Mozart composed and
performed some of his famous works.
The Chorale recruits new members
with auditions twice yearly. Rehearsals are held every Tuesday during
the season at 7:30 p.m. To arrange an audition call (800) 984-SATB or
email Kent Morgan, Director.
In December 2005, the Chorale
sang Morten Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium at our winter concert.
